At least one in vehicle in Cabela’s pond

A vehicle has landed in the pond at the Cabela’s in Mitchell.

At least one person was in a vehicle that landed in the pond at the Cabela’s in Mitchell Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Mitchell Police Investigator Joel Reinesch said the unidentified person was in the vehicle that went into the pond just after 3 p.m. Divers went into the shallow pond outside the outdoors megastore at least twice.

Reinesch would not say if the person was dead, but a hearse arrived at the scene shortly after 4:30 p.m. The vehicle remained submerged after 5 p.m.
