A Mitchell man pleaded guilty Tuesday to lying about dates he worked on an application for unemployment benefits.
Ross A. Wharton, 48, admitted he worked at some point between March 8, 2009, and Aug. 1, 2009, contrary to what he wrote on an application for unemployment benefits.
In exchange for his guilty plea and willingness to pay more than $6,000 in restitution, prosecutors agreed to recommend any prison time he receives be suspended and that he serve no more than 30 days in jail. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and sentencing was set for October.
