Suspect sought in Augustana campus rape in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Sioux Falls police are looking for a man who reportedly raped a 19-year-old student on the Augustana College campus.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens says the suspect fled when campus security officers came across the incident in a parking lot about midnight Friday. The woman told police that the man had sexually assaulted her after getting out of a car with several other men. Authorities say they have surveillance camera video of the car.

College spokeswoman Kelly Sprecher says an alert custodian called security. She says it's "a horrible situation" and that students, faculty and staff have been alerted.
