SIOUX FALLS (AP) — The average value of South Dakota farm land rose by about 25 percent in the past year.
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — The average value of South Dakota farm land rose by about 25 percent in the past year.
The U.S. Agriculture Department reports that the average value of cropland in South Dakota is now $2,320 an acre, up nearly 25 percent from last year’s estimate of $1,860 an acre. Nationally, cropland was up 14.5 percent from a year ago to $3,550 an acre.
The average value of South Dakota pastureland is now $590 an acre, up more than 25 percent from last year’s $470 an acre.
