BROOKINGS — Koln Thie had four hits and Mitchell Price tossed a two-hitter to pace Mitchell Black to a 16-3 win over the Rapid City Reds during the state teener baseball tournament Saturday in Brookings.

Despite Saturday’s victory, Black had two losses on Friday, which meant the team could not advance into Sunday’s championship bracket. Black ends its season with a 26-26 record.

Thie’s four hits were a season-high for the second baseman and included two doubles and two RBIs. Mitchell also got two hits from Devin Mehlhaff, a triple from Jed Schmidt and a double from Tucker Kingsbury. Schmidt ends the season with a team-high .487 average.

Price pitched a complete game, allowing two hits and one earned run. He struck out two and walked four.
