PARKSTON — The Parkston teener baseball team claimed the Region 4A championship with a 9-1 win over Salem/Montrose/Canova Saturday in Parkston.
Zach Scott got the win on the mound, allowing one earned run and striking out five in seven innings.
Ty Kinneberg had four hits and four runs in the win. He recorded a triple and two doubles. Brady Reiff also had four hits, including a double.
Scott scored twice with two hits including a double while Cole Donahue had three hits and Hunter Jackson added two for Parkston.
Luke Loudenburg, Marshall Miller and Bryce Roth had had two hits for Salem/Montrose/Canova.
Loudenburg was the losing pitcher, allowing eight runs in five innings. He struck out five.
Parkston advances to the state tournament and plays Friday in Tabor.
