To the Editor:
Just recently Penn State and former head football coach Joe Paterno were greatly penalized. The result of their failure to notify authorities that young boys were being abused by one of their assistant football coaches, Jerry Sandusky. According to recent findings, deceased head coach Paterno, after having knowledge of abuse, failed to report the incident. The university was fined $60 million, was banned from playoff contention for four years and the statue honoring Coach Paterno was removed from the campus.
If a person cannot knowingly conceal child abuse, how can one knowingly not report the worst kind of child abuse, abortion? Every day in America unborn children are aborted while we turn our backs. I, for one, do not want to be indicted someday for not speaking up. So I am announcing to the authorities that abuse of the worst kind is happening. To our senators, representatives, courts, and yes, the president of the United States, I ask that you come to the aid of the most helpless victims in our society. While molestation and child abuse are extremely violent, yet even they cannot compare to the murder of the unborn.
Please call or write your congressman. Do not look the other way. You may be indicted someday as a result of your failure to report abuse.
