A 23-year-old Mitchell man was arrested July 26 and charged with third-offense drunken driving and driving with a revoked license.
Ronald Thomas Wells was arrested after police received a complaint of a car speeding and weaving past traffic in the 100 block of South Main Street.
A Mitchell police officer stopped the vehicle, after which it was discovered Wells was driving drunk and had no valid driver’s license, court documents say. Wells’ 2-year-old son was in the back seat of the vehicle at the time of the stop, the documents add.
Wells faces a maximum of two years in prison and a $4,000 fine if convicted of his third DUI, and a maximum of one year in jail and a $2,000 fine if convicted of driving with a revoked license.
He is scheduled to appear in court this month.
