PARKSTON — Parkston defeated Winner 9-1 Friday to advance to the championship of the Region 4A 15-16 VFW teener baseball tournament in Parkston.
Brady Reiff recorded three RBIs with a double and a triple for Parkston. Jacob Weber added two RBIs.
Spencer Lucas was the winning pitcher, striking out two in four shutout innings.
Adam Farner was the losing pitcher for Winner, striking out two in four innings. Sam Naasz had two hits in the game.
Winner takes on Salem/Montrose/Canova at 5 p.m. today with the championship game taking place afterwards. The winning team from the 5 p.m. game will take on Parkston in Parkston.
Salem/Montrose/Canova 10, Chamberlain 7
PARKSTON — Tim Gassman struck out four in relief of Kyler Hanson as Salem/Montrose/Canova eliminated Chamberlain from the Region 4A teener baseball tournament with a 10-7 win Friday in Parkston.
Marshall Miller, Isaac Anderson and Tyler Cleveland all had two hits in the win as their team takes on Winner at 5 p.m. today for a chance to play in the championship game against Parkston.
Hudson Priebe had two hits and scored three runs for Chamberlain. Chris Schwartz had two hits and suffered the loss on the mound, allowing six runs in five innings while striking out two.
Chamberlain 9, Menno 8
PARKSTON — Chamberlain eliminated Menno from the Region 4A teener baseball tournament with a 9-8 win Friday in Parkston.
Hudson Priebe struck out five and allowed five runs in five innings to pick up the win on the mound.
Chet Peterson was the losing pitcher for Menno, allowing six runs and striking out two in four innings. Joe Weire had two hits, including a triple in the loss.
Bon Homme 2
PARKSTON — Cole Cheeseman had three hits and Luke Loudenberg had two hits and two runs as Salem/Montrose/Canova eliminated Bon Homme from the Region 4A teener baseball tournament with a 4-2 win Friday in Parkston.
Tim Gassman got the win on the mound, throwing the final two frames. Marshall Miller got a no-decision, allowing two runs and striking out three in seven innings.
Mike Messman struck out seven in six innings for Bon Homme. Zach Sutera was the losing pitching, allowing two runs in one inning.
Scott Weisler had a double and two RBIs for Bon Homme.
