Drug search leads to two arrests in Mitchell

Two people were arrested Monday after police found illegal drugs inside a residence in Mitchell.

Two people were arrested Monday after police found illegal drugs inside a residence in Mitchell.

Richard Alan Miller, 32, and Gladys Rose Jackson, 32, each face one count of possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges are misdemeanors.

Miller also faces one count of possession of methamphetamine. He could face a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine if convicted of the felony.

The charges stem from a search warrant executed on a residence where the two were living.

The Mitchell Police Division and the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation investigated the case.
