LOWER BRULE — A Lower Brule man was sentenced Monday to eight months of home confinement for burglarizing the Lower Brule Solid Waste Facility in December.

Daniel Berry, 23, pleaded guilty in May to third-degree burglary after he was indicted on the charge by a federal grand jury in March.

In addition to the time Berry will spend under house arrest, the court also put him on probation for two years and ordered he pay $1,427 in restitution.

The conviction stems from an incident in which Berry broke into the Lower Brule Solid Waste Facility and stole a variety of tools and other valuables.

Berry was released to begin serving his home confinement.
