The Mitchell Black teener baseball team beat Watertown twice in a doubleheader Friday at Drake Field in Mitchell.
Black claimed the first game 9-5 and took the second game 6-2.
Mitchell’s Mitch Price threw a complete game in the first win. He threw seven innings, allowed nine hits, three earned runs and two walks. He struck out three.
Brandon Krogman had four hits, Jed Schmidt and Jacob Thill each had a pair of hits and Tucker Kingsbury added a double.
Kingsbury picked up the win in the nightcap. He threw five innings, walked one, struck out five and allowed two earned runs. Andrew Neugebauer and Thill each pitched one inning in relief. They didn’t allow a hit.
Offensively for Black, Price had a pair of hits.
Mitchell finishes its regular season 24-24. Black plays in the state tournament Friday in Brookings, with its first-round game against Sioux Falls West.
Dakota Wesleyan golf signs Burr

The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s golf team added its third South Dakota native to the 2012-13 roster this week as head coach Adam Anderson announced the signing of Belle Fourche native Tyler Burr.
Burr joins Hot Springs native Brady Besco and Winner’s Anthony Husher as the new additions to the Tigers’ roster.
Burr was a two-time conference champion and a region champion at Belle Fourche High School. He made the Class A state golf meet six times and finished in the top five twice.
Mitchell Gray team drops two games to Pierre

PIERRE —Mitchell Gray dropped a pair of teener baseball games at Pierre Friday, losing 11-2 in the first game and 3-1 in the second game.
Wyatt Smith took the mound for Gray in the first game, pitching four innings, allowing seven runs, with two strikeouts and one walk.
Among Gray’s six hits in the first game, Carter Thompson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Logan Kurtenbach was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Kyle Woodall had a run scored as well.
In the second game, Jacob Dahme took the loss, throwing four innings, with one strikeout and three earned runs allowed. Dahme did lead the team at the plate, going 2-for-3, while Woodall scored the team’s only run. Gray finished the game with five hits.
Gray (3-27) plays in the state tournament next weekend in Huron, with its opening game at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
