ABERDEEN (AP) — A former Indian Health Services employee has been sentenced to prison on a federal child pornography charge.
The media reports that 55-year-old Ronald Dean Keats, of Aberdeen, was sentenced this week to three years and eight months in prison and a $100,000 fine. Keats earlier pleaded guilty to the charge.
Court records say an employee in the federal building in Aberdeen found a CD in the building's elevator in 2010. The disc contained images of child pornography as well as a document authored by the defendant.
In exchange for his guilty plea, three other charges of possession of child pornography against Keats were dismissed.
