MILLTOWN — A reported rape July 16 near Milltown is not likely to result in a prosecution.
Hutchinson County State’s Attorney Glenn Roth said Wednesday the apparent victim had inconsistencies in her story and then became uncooperative.
Roth said the victim is from out of state. He expects the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation to do follow-up interviews soon, but said “based on the information received so far, with the inconsistencies and uncooperativeness from the victim, there’s likely not going to be any further action.”
