WAGNER — Organizer Frances Zephier, of Lake Andes, has announced a time change for a memorial walk Monday in Wagner to honor the late Rielee Lovell.

The Rielee Lovell 5K Memorial Walk will start at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Wagner tribal housing project where the 2-year-old’s body was found on July 4, and it will end at Wagner City Park.

Rielee’s caretakers, Taylor Cournoyer, 21, and Laurie Cournoyer, 28, have been charged with one count each of abuse or cruelty to a minor, and failure to notify law enforcement of the death of a child.

Both allegedly admitted to using meth, marijuana and prescription drugs after Rielee’s death, which went unreported for more than a day and a half.

Zephier said concerned parents will protest the rising use of meth among area youth at the couple’s 2 p.m. Tuesday court date in Lake Andes.
