WHITE LAKE — Two Georgia residents were injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash at about 6:40 a.m. Monday on Interstate 90 about three miles east of White Lake.
Tamika Jackson, 36, was driving west with passenger Darnell Ellison, 39, in an SUV towing a trailer when she drove into the south median, overcorrected, then ran across the road into the north ditch and rolled, authorities said. The vehicle rolled about one and a half times and came to rest on its roof.
Both were wearing seat belts and were able to crawl out of the overturned vehicle.
Jackson and Ellison were transported by ambulance to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell with non-life-threatening injuries.
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol, Aurora County Sheriff’s Office, White Lake Ambulance and Mitchell Ambulance all responded to the incident.
