Schroeder and Sternberg help Platte-Geddes beat Tabor in 4B tourney
CORSICA — Phillip Schroeder threw a complete-game six-hitter to help Platte-Geddes top Tabor 12-6 in the Region 4B Legion tournament Friday.

Schroeder gave up six runs, five walks and he struck out eight.
Richard Sternberg had three doubles and two singles to lead the Platte-Geddes offense. He also added two RBIs. Trey DeHaan had a two-run homer and Drew Turnis had two singles.
Kodi Larson was tagged with the loss for Tabor. He threw 2 1/3 innings, allowed four runs, six hits and three walks.
Blase Vanacek had two singles and Jeff Honner had a single and two RBIs for Tabor.
Platte-Geddes moves to the region championship game, which will be played at approximately 7 p.m. tonight in Corsica. The opponent is yet to be decided.

CORSICA — Corsica’s offense led the way in a 13-1 win over Scotland/Lesterville Friday in the Region 4B Legion tournament.
Brennan Hilzendinger earned the win for Corsica. He threw four innings, walked five and struck out seven. He didn’t allow a run or a hit.
Allen Muilenburg pitched the fifth inning and gave up Scotland/Lesterville’s lone hit.
Offensively for Corsica, Alex Kocer had two doubles, Adam Fink had two singles and a pair of RBIs and Kris Menning had a solo home run, a double and four RBIs.
The losing pitcher was Ryan Auch. He threw 2/3 of an inning, allowing seven runs on four hits and two walks. Auch had the team’s lone hit and added an RBI.
Corsica (10-3) plays Tabor at 5 p.m. Saturday in Corsica in an elimination game. The winner of the elimination game plays Platte/Geddes in the region championship game following the first game.
