SIOUX FALLS (AP) — A Rosebud woman has pleaded guilty to theft from an Indian tribal organization.
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — A South Dakota woman has pleaded guilty to theft from an Indian tribal organization.
The U.S. attorney's office says 39-year-old Tanya Walking Eagle, of Rosebud, submitted false claims to the Rosebud Sioux Tribe child care services program and worked with an employee there to embezzle or steal money.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 8.
