SIOUX FALLS (AP) — A man who robbed a Sioux Falls casino at knifepoint last fall has been sentenced to serve 12 years in prison.

Authorities say 22-year-old Silky Richardson played video lottery in the Crown Casino last October until other customers left, then jumped a counter and threatened a worker with a kitchen knife before taking money from the till and fleeing.

The media reports that Richardson also was given a five-year sentence on a grand theft charge, but he will serve it at the same time as the robbery sentence. He also was given a suspended sentence on another grand theft charge and a suspended sentence for assaulting a correctional officer while being held on the robbery charge.
