The children of the late Ray and Anna Adams, longtime residents of Mitchell, hosted a family reunion at Patton Park Sunday, June 24.
Seventy relatives attended, including immediate and extended family members coming from eight states. It had been many years since some of the cousins had seen one another. The oldest family member in attendance was 88-year-old Edwin Swanson, New Prague, Minn., formerly of Canton. Uncle Edwin was privileged to have several young great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews to meet him for the first time. Several smaller family gatherings were held at the homes of Art Adams, Jack and Nancy Kirchmeier, Stan and Joanne Hofwolt and Betty Christensen, all of Mitchell, during the reunion weekend.
Two family members, Duane Adams of Omaha, Neb.; and Alta (Adams) Gering of Oklahoma City, Okla., had also attended the Plano School reunion festivities during that weekend since both were graduates of Plano High School.
