An area woman is denying allegations of negligence made in a lawsuit relating to a 2009 traffic crash in Mitchell.

Rollin Scott Woodruff and his attorney E. Steeves Smith, of the Mitchell-based law firm Tinan, Smith and Bucher, filed a lawsuit June 21 against Renae Katherine Gades. Woodruff and Gades are both residents of Davison County, court documents say.

The suit stems from a June 14, 2009, traffic crash that occurred in the 1300 block of West Havens Avenue.

In an answer filed July 2, Gades admits to her involvement in the accident, but denies that any negligence on her part contributed to the injuries Woodruff allegedly suffered in the crash.

Gades and her attorney Eric C. Schulte, of Sioux Falls, have requested the suit be dismissed and Gades be awarded any legal costs incurred as a result.
