The 25,000-square-foot YMCA Youth Development Center will provide child care services for children from infancy through the sixth grade. Aberdeen Family YMCA Executive Director Steve Graf tells the media that it should be ready in about a year.
The building will have a gymnasium, an indoor playground and in-floor heating. It will be able to serve about 350 children.
Officials have raised about $3.4 million so far through donations and grants.
