SAVAGES
John Travolta and Selma Hayek head an all-star in this vicious action thriller from director Oliver Stone.
Two buddies, Ben (Aaron Johnson) a peaceful marijuana grower, and Chon (Taylor Kitcsh) a former Navy SEAL and exmercenary, run a lucrative business growing and selling the best weed ever developed. They are living the good life with their shared girlfriend (Blake Lively) in Laguna Beach, Calif. until the Mexican Baja drug cartel tries to move in on them.
The cartel is run by Elena Hayek) and her brutal enforcer Del Toro) with the help of a dirty DEA agent (Travolta). When the guys refuse to partner with the cartel, the cartel kidnaps their girlfriend. Ben and Chon fight back and wage a seemingly unwinnable war. So begins a series of increasingly vicious ploys and maneuvers in a high stakes, savage battle of wills.
“Savages” opens Friday nationally, including at the Luxury 5 Cinemas. 131 minutes. It is rated R for strong brutal and grisly violence, some sexuality, nudity, drug use and language.
AMAZING SPIDERMAN
Spider Man finds a clue that might help him understand why his parents disappeared when he was young in this modern remake of Spider-Man’s beginnings.
The movie tells the story of Peter Parker, an outcast high school student, who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his uncle. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance.
The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Martin Sheen, Sally Field and Dennis Leary.
“Amazing Spiderman” is now showing at the Luxury 5 Cinemas. 136 minutes. It is showing in 3D and 2D at alternating show times. It is rated PG-13 for sequences of action and violence.
KATY PERRY: PART OF ME

This outrageous comedy is the first motion picture from the creators of “Family Guy.”
Seth MacFarlane brings his boundary-pushing brand of humor to the big screen for the first time as writer, director and voice star of Ted. In the live action/CG-animated comedy, he tells the story of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg), a grown man who must deal with the cherished teddy bear who came to life as the result of a childhood wish — and has refused to leave his side ever since.
“Ted” is held over. 106 minutes. Rated R for crude and sexual content, pervasive language, and some drug use.
MAGIC MIKE
Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey star in this comedy drama set in the world of male strippers.
The film follows Mike (Tatum) as he takes a young dancer called The Kid (Alex Pettyfer) under his wing and schools him in the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money. The film is inspired by a true story and is directed by Steven Soderbergh.
“Magic Mike” is held over. 101 minutes. It is rated R for pervasive sexual content, brief graphic nudity, language and some drug use.
BRAVE
Walt Disney and Pixar bring this hilarious new adventure of a feisty princess who can out-shoot and out-ride any of the of the nearby princes her mother wants her to marry.
Princess Merida is courageous, impetuous and a skilled archer. She is determined to carve her own path in life and defies an age-old customs in wanting to pick her own husband.
Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish.
The film features the voices of Craig Ferguson and Robbie Coltrane.
“Brave” is showing every night through July 12 at the Starlite Drive-in Theatre. 101 minutes. It is rated PG for some scary violence and humor.
AVENGERS
All of Marvel’s super heroes team up to fight a new evil in this new action picture.
When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., needs a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, recruitment begins.
Included in the super line up are Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow.
The film stars Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson.
“Avengers” is showing Friday and Saturday at the Starlite. 142 minutes. It is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action throughout and a mild drug reference.
