Gregory woman dies in rollover accident

GREGORY — A Gregory woman died in a single-vehicle accident near state Highway 47 about six miles north of Gregory around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Katie Lou Kolbe, 19, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer northbound on Highway 47 when the vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle entered the east ditch and then slid back across the highway and into the west ditch, where it rolled. Kolbe, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further details were immediately available.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. The Gregory County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
