Christian musicians are tuning up for this year’s Rockin’ on the Ridge concert, which will run from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Hitchcock Park Bandshell.
The free annual event is sponsored by Northridge Baptist Church, said organizer Deb Weitala, a ministry assistant at the church, but any donations received will help with food relief efforts.
“This year’s concert will be a fundraiser for ImpactLives,” said Weitala, who helped organize three ImpactLives food packaging events at the Corn Palace that packed a total of one million meals for overseas famine relief.
“We took a year off in 2012,” Weitala said, “but our next ImpactLives food pack will be on April 27, 2013, at the Corn Palace. Profits from all food concessions at the event will go to benefit the work of ImpactLives. Many of the musicians scheduled to play belong to Northridge’s praise band.
