LETTER: Island Park cleaned up after story was heard

The power of the printed word was proven to me this past month. After my letter to you was printed and the article you did with me and Buddy came out, the response has been unbelievable.

To the Editor:

The power of the printed word was proven to me this past month. After my letter to you was printed and the article you did with me and

Buddy came out, the response has been unbelievable.

Island Park has been cleaned up. A crew of local farmers and friends came down on June 3 with tractors, mowers, chain saws and a crew to pick up branches and knock down the weeds and haul it away. The main part of the park is clean with a back portion still to be done. This week it was mowed and looks great.

Rock has been hauled in on the boat landing and has been used almost daily.

My thanks go out to all who took the time to clean and maintain the grounds.

I’m waiting for the day a softball game is played under the lights!

So, thank you for printing my story.
