Lower Brule man pleads guilty to burglary case

LOWER BRULE — A Lower Brule man has pleaded guilty to taking merchandise from store.

LOWER BRULE — A Lower Brule man has pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary.

Tyler Walters, 25, admitted in court Wednesday he and another individual broke into a store in Lower Brule on July 17 and stole more than $3,000 in merchandise. Authorities used the store’s surveillance footage to identify Walters and the other individual.

The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Lower Brule Agency.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan N. Dilges.

A presentence investigation was ordered, and sentencing was set for September.
