Semi driver arrested in Bon Homme County for driving under influence of meth

A man is in custody in Yankton for driving under the influence of methamphetamine. Authorities have not released names at this time.

A man is in custody in Yankton for driving under the influence of methamphetamine. Authorities have not released names at this time.

Early Monday morning, law enforcement responded to a 911 call from a female passenger of a semi-truck stating she was afraid of the driver.

According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the truck was traveling on 299th Street near 413th Avenue in Bon Homme County when the driver parked it near a farmhouse.

The female approached the farmhouse and asked to use the phone to dial 911.

The Highway Patrol and a Bon Homme County Sheriff’s Office staffer responded to the scene.

The driver was held in the Bon Homme County Jail for driving under the influence of meth and was charged with ingesting a controlled substance. He was taken to Yankton County Jail.
