LETTER: Littering needs to stop

To the Editor:
I would like to thank all you litterbugs for trashing the countryside with paper, plastic, glass, aluminum cans, styrofoam and other garbage.
A couple months ago, my wife, daughter-in-law, and grandkids picked three trash bags full of litter out of a mile of ditch by our farms. This past week we cut and baled the hay, and you wouldn’t believe the amount of garbage that was in the ditch.
If you’d like people to dump their garbage on your yards, keep doing it, but I’m sure you’d scream bloody murder if someone did it to you. I’m sure if we’d put garbage cans on every mile corner they’d be shot full of holes or dumped over or stolen, so we won’t.
I’m also sure there are others who live in the country that feel this way, too.
If you’re too lazy to take your trash home and put it in your cans, Lord help you.
By the way, cattle like to eat grass, plastic, paper, cans and that just like you do.
