SIOUX FALLS (AP) — A Redfield man faces a half dozen criminal charges after allegedly driving under the influence of numerous prescription painkillers while his 2-year-old daughter rode in the back seat.

According to media reports, 26-year-old Josef Wolfgang Rude was charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession of a substance for the purposes of intoxication. He also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, second-offense driving under the influence and child endangerment after Sioux Falls police received several reports of erratic driving on Friday.
Officers reportedly found two satchels of synthetic marijuana and OxyContin and OxyCodone pills.
His daughter, who had been riding in a child safety seat, was unharmed.
Rude did not respond to a phone message seeking comment.
