The James Valley Community Center in Mitchell opened its annual Farmers and Flea Market on June 2 with more vendors than ever participating.

The market operates each Saturday during the summer in the parking lot at Fifth Avenue and Main Street from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Fifteen vendors set up during the second weekend, June 9, selling items such as fresh poultry and produce, home-baked goodies and canned items. Some vendors include the Rosedale Hutterite Colony and an Amish Community from the area, which offers baked and produce items.

Other vendors are selling jewelry, birdhouses, household furniture and décor items.
