Three Mitchell teams place in softball tourney

HASTINGS, Neb. — Three Mitchell girls’ softball teams traveled to take part in a tournament over the weekend in Hastings, Neb.

The Mitchell Venom 18 & Under team won its bracket and made the High School Platinum Division where it finished in third place. The team went 3-1 overall.

The Mitchell Unleashed 16 & Under team went 3-2 overall and won the High School Silver Division championship.

The Mitchell Unleashed 12 & Under team made it to the 12 & Under Gold Division where the team finished in third. The girls went 3-1 overall for the weekend.

Tabor Legion team defeats Burke

TABOR — Lance Ranek pitched eight innings for the win as Tabor picked up a Legion baseball win 10-4 over Burke Sunday in Tabor.

Blasé Vanecek had three hits including two triples and Charlie Bentzen added two hits including a double.

Tabor’s next game is against Irene Wednesday in Tabor.
