To the Editor:
Thank you for the article on pink slime. You are always the paper who publishes the things the Rapid City Journal and Argus Leader don’t. If I get to where I can afford to subscribe to a paper, yours is the one it will be.
Now today the Argus has it but probably wouldn’t if it hadn’t been for you.
It is disgusting that these three states should feed that stuff to the children. It used to be put in dog food. The only reason people ate it this long is because they didn’t know what they were eating. No farmer or rancher would feed that to their family when they butcher. I grew up on a farm/ranch and we fed stuff like that to the dogs.
These three states are always the last to practice healthy things, which is why we have such a high rate of obesity and diabetes. No wonder our students are so overweight. This is a disgrace. Now that we know about it, we show our ignorance by using it anyway. We should be ashamed.
Keep up the good work.
If you want to print my letter, you may. Our parents need to know what our children are being fed. As it is the school lunches are full of MSG (monosodium glutamate), salt, fat and sugar as well. I love the children and it is a crime what they are being fed.
Congratulations on your good journalism.
