Parkston’s Bormann takes 1st at National Bank Tour
SIOUX FALLS — Parkston’s Sydney Bormann took first place at the First Dakota National Bank Junior Tour in the girls’ 14-15 age group Wednesday at Bakker Crossing Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
Bormann’s score of 80 was good enough for first place.
Sydney Weber of Parkston took fourth place with a score of 93. Alexa Goldammer of Howard took fourth place in the girls’ 12-13 age group with a score of 143.
Devils avoid elimination, beat Kings 3-1
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Adam Henrique scored the tiebreaking goal with 4:29 to play, Martin Brodeur made 21 saves, and the New Jersey Devils beat the Los Angeles Kings 3-1 on Wednesday night to avoid a sweep in the Stanley Cup finals.
Patrik Elias and Ilya Kovalchuk also scored third-period goals for the Eastern Conference champion Devils, who forced the NHL to put the Stanley Cup back in its crate for another cross-country trip. Game 5 is Saturday night in Newark, N.J.
