Nelson, Schoenfish lead in District 19 primary

With results still being reported, Stace Nelson and Kyle Schoenfish are the frontrunners for the two Republican nominations for the state House in District 19.

With results still being reported, Stace Nelson and Kyle Schoenfish are the frontrunners for the two Republican nominations for the state House in District 19.

The two lead their opponents Jim Putnam, of Armour, and Roger Hofer, of Bridgewater, with 20 of 26 precincts reporting. So far, Nelson has garnered more than 37 percent of the vote, with Schoenfish next in line at nearly 28 percent.

Nelson, of Fulton, won handily in Hanson and McCook counties, receiving about 58 and 45 percent of the vote, respectively.

District 19 includes Hanson, McCook, Douglas and Hutchinson counties, and part of Bon Homme County.
