HURON (AP) — A bogus letter is circulating in Huron, telling some city residents there have been complaints about their barking dogs.
Huron Police Sgt. Brandon Nietzert says the letter is labeled as coming from the Beadle County municipal enforcement supervisor. Nietzert tells the media that the job doesn't exist.
Authorities say the city does send out letters to residents if there have been complaints about barking dogs or other noise. But the letters are on city letterhead and include contact information.
Police say the "barking dog" letter being circulated in Huron doesn't have that information.
