LETTER: Two-ways are best for Mitchell streets

I live on a one-way street and I don’t believe the one-way streets are what is best for the city or for the neighborhoods.

To the Editor:

There has been much discussion regarding our one-way streets (Second, Third and Fourth avenues) — most of it by folks that do not live on a one-way street.

I understand this is a city issue; however, I live on a one-way street and I don’t believe the one-way streets are what is best for the city or for the neighborhoods. It is true traffic travels faster on a one-way street — not a good thing. It is true frequently traffic goes the wrong way — not a good thing, even the garbage trucks go the wrong way on trash day. It is true residents and tourists get confused, not a good thing. It is true I frequently have to go around the block or an extra block to get where I am going, not a good deal.

From giving direction to ease of getting around town, I believe two-way streets are best for the city.
