To the Editor:
I am writing to show my support of Roger Haley’s bid for mayor. Although I am no longer a resident of Mitchell, my family still lives there. I read the Mitchell paper daily to stay up on the issues and events in my hometown.
I have known Roger for almost 20 years. Throughout that time, I have known Roger to be nothing but a man of his word. This is a trait that is lacking and certainly needed in this day and age of politics.
Mitchell is in need of a fresh voice in its city government. We need new leadership and not someone who continues to promise what they will do in the future.
Roger won’t promise you what he’ll do; he’ll roll up his sleeves and just do it.
Roger Haley may be a newcomer to politics, but he certainly has the necessary background and experience to succeed in the job. His background includes a strong foundation in business and finance which certainly are needed by a mayor. Roger started the Modern Woodmen branch in Mitchell after serving in the Army. After succeeding in that endeavor, he was promoted to lead the entire state of Nebraska for Modern Woodmen. When Roger retired, he and his wife, Marilyn, decided to return home to Mitchell. It just felt right as Mitchell is their home. Now that he’s retired, Roger Haley wants to give back to the city that has given him and his family so much.
Come Tuesday, I encourage you to vote for Roger Haley for mayor. You won’t regret it.
