Annual Race on the River set for July 7 at Chamberlain

CHAMBERLIAN — The annual Race on the River 5K/10K fun run and walk is back to the bridge in its 20th year.

CHAMBERLIAN — The annual Race on the River 5K/10K fun run and walk is back to the bridge in its 20th year.

Registration is now open for the run, set for Saturday, July 7, in Chamberlain. Early bird registration is due Friday, June 29, for a discounted entry at $15. After June 29 through race day, registration is $20.

Participants will receive an event shirt. A race number, water and postrace snacks are included.

The run/walks starts at 8:30 am at the St. Joseph’s Indian School recreation center with the 5K and 10K courses leaving the campus south on Main Street and along the river through Barger Park. The 5K will turnaround at the bridge with the 10K route crossing the bridge with a turnaround on Mickelson Shoreline Drive near Cedar Shore Resort. The race has not been on the bridge for the past three years due to construction. The Chamberlain/Oacoma Fitness Council, with support from the city of Chamberlain and town of Oacoma, coordinates the annual race.
