A building plan for Corona Village will come before the Mitchell Planning and Zoning Commission today.
The Mexican restaurant, located at 1101 S. Burr St., has submitted a plan for review by the planners. The building will receive a “facelift,” manager Eric Pelayo said, and will also replace some shingles damaged in the recent hailstorm.
The commission meets at noon at City Hall Council Chambers, 612 N. Main St. The meeting is open to the public. It is being held on a Tuesday because of the Memorial Day holiday.
The planners will also:
• Hold a hearing on the application of Dennis and Janelle Ven Osdel for a variance for a side yard setback of 1 foot, 6 inches instead of the required 3 feet at 1116 E. Fourth Ave.
• Hold a hearing on the application of Lou and James Sebert for a variance to construct an accessory building with a height variance of 25 feet instead of the mandated 17 feet; a size variance of 3,200 square feet instead of the mandated 1,050 square feet, legally described as Sebert Tract 1, a subdivision of Lot A, the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 23, T 103 N, R 60 W of the fifth prime meridian in Davison County. The request is being made because the height limitations and side limitations are not being met.
• Hold for a hearing on the application of James and Kim Sebert for a variance for a back yard setback of 10 feet instead of the required 30 feet, at 507 Charles St. The request is being made because the back yard setback is not being met.
• Hold a hearing on the application of Lou and Carol Sebert for a variance for a back yard setback of 8 feet instead of the standard 30 feet, at 513 Charles St. The request is being made because the backyard setback is not being met.
• Consider the plats of Lots G and F of the J.A. Harris first addition, a subdivision of Lot 2 of the west half of Section 31, T 104, R 60 of the fifth prime meridian in Davison County.
• Consider the plat of D Nemec Tract A in the southeast quarter of the southeast quarter and the northeast quarter of the southeast quarter of Section 36, T 104, R 61 west of the fifth prime meridian in Davison County.
• Reconsider a new, electronic reader board at Taco John’s, 701 N. Sanborn Blvd. The planners recommended approval, with conditions, at their May 14 meeting.
• Set the date for a public hearing on the proposed new city zoning code.
