Vern Eide of Mitchell is providing a 2010 12-passenger Ford van to Mitchell Technical Institute for two years, according to a Vern Eide news release issued Thursday.

According to Vern Eide Manager Kelly Kramer, the dealership saw a need for the school to have a van to transport larger groups of students to projects and events in other locations.

“We like to be supportive of the local community, and this was an opportunity for us to do something,” Kramer said.

MTI President Greg Von Wald, who received the keys to the van, expressed his gratitude.

“This van will allow our students to make better use of time and resources,” he said.

The van will be used to transport students to the wind turbine at the Crow Lake wind farm, make field trips to regional businesses, or drive student groups to conferences and trade shows.
