Texas woman charged in year-and-a-half old Sioux Falls homicide
A Dallas woman was charged in a Texas homicide when police thought she was connected to the South Dakota case.
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — A Texas woman has been charged with murder in a South Dakota homicide that occurred more than a year and a half ago.
Authorities in Sioux Falls say Letisha Morgan of Dallas has long been a suspect in the October 2010 killing of 52-year-old Howard Allen but they did not have enough evidence until recently to make an arrest. They say Morgan recently was charged in a Texas homicide and during discussions with Dallas police it became apparent she allegedly was connected to Allen's killing.
Allen was found dead in his apartment of multiple stab wounds. Authorities say Morgan was staying with Allen, though detectives are unsure how she knew him.
Sioux Falls police will allow the legal process in Texas to proceed before considering extradition.
