Lower Brule teen arraigned, pleads not guilty to sexual abuse charges

A 19-year-old Lower Brule man appeared in federal court and pleaded not guilty Friday to three sexual abuse charges.

Wade Keith Goodface was indicted May 8 by a federal grand jury on one count of aggravated sexual abuse and two counts of abusive sexual contact. If convicted, he faces a maximum of life in prison for the aggravated sexual abuse charge, and 10 years for each sexual contact charge.

Goodface could also be fined $250,000 for each count. The investigation is being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan N. Dilges is prosecuting the case. Goodface was remanded to the U.S. Marshals Service. A trial date has not yet been set.
