Mudcats top Corsica/Stickney

CORSICA — The Parkston Mudcats defeated Corsica/Stickney 15-0 in amateur baseball action Thursday.

Parkston’s Luke Tiesker was the winning pitcher. Dylan Dwyer went 4-for-4 with two home runs and six RBIs, Jeff Harris had a double and two singles and Jeff Heisinger had a double and a single.

The losing pitcher for Corsica/Stickney was Nathan Blum. Ryan Buck and Aaron Moeller each had a hit .

The Mudcats are back in action when they travel to Platte at 6 p.m Sunday. Corsica/Stickney hosts Alexandria at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Morneau homers to lift Twins

DETROIT — Justin Morneau hit a two-run homer in his second game back from a wrist injury, and the Minnesota Twins held on for a 4-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Thursday.

Minnesota (12-26) has won two in a row for the second time this season.

Pacers pound Heat 94-75

INDIANAPOLIS — Roy Hibbert had 19 points and 18 rebounds as the Indiana Pacers throttled the Heat 94-75 on Thursday in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Mitchell native Mike Miller had six points in 17 minutes for the Heat.
