MUCH OBLIGED: Attendance at Brass in Blue band concert appreciated

The Daily Republic thanks all who attended the recent concert of the Air Force band Brass in Blue.

The Daily Republic thanks all who attended the recent concert of the Air Force band Brass in Blue. The event drew more than 700 people, and although it was generally sponsored by The Daily Republic, others also were instrumental in the concert’s success.

Mark Schilling and the staff at the Corn Palace aided in the concert’s promotion, while the local branches of the Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars all quietly helped pay to rent the Corn Palace for the evening in an act that the newspaper and even the band didn’t hear about until much later. Also, the help of Technical Sgt. Alex Serwatowski, tuba player and chief promoter for Brass in Blue, was very key in the concert’s success.

Thanks again from The Daily Republic.
