DARK SHADOWS

Vampire Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp) comes alive in the new comedy thriller directed by Tim Burton.

In the year 1752, Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet, or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972.

“Dark Shadows” opens nationally, including at the Luxury 5 Cinemas, on Friday, May 11. 113 minutes. It is rated PG-13 for comic horror violence, sexual content, some drug use, language and smoking

THE RAVEN

John Cusack (“2012”) stars as Edgar Allan Poe in this edgy suspense thriller. In this gritty thriller, Edgar Allen Poe (John Cusack) joins forces with a young Baltimore detective (Luke Evans from “Immortals”) to hunt down a mad serial killer who’s using Poe’s own works as the basis in a string of brutal murders.

Directed by James McTeigue (“V for Vendetta”), the film also stars Alice Eve (“Sex and the City 2”), Brendan Gleeson and Oliver Jackson-Cohen (“Faster”). “Raven” opens nationally, including at the Luxury 5 Cinemas, on Friday, May 11. 110 minutes. It is rated R for bloody violence and grisly images.

LOCKOUT

This new action thriller is from the producers of “Taken”. Set in the near future, Lockout follows a falsely convicted ex-government agent (Guy Pearce) whose one chance at obtaining freedom lies in the dangerous mission of rescuing the President’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from rioting convicts at an outer space maximum security prison.

“Lockout” opens Friday, May 11 and is showing through Wednesday, May 16. 95 minutes.

It is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, and language including some sexual references.

THE AVENGERS

All of Marvel’s super heroes team up to fight a new evil in this new action picture.

When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins. Several are mistrustful of each other and only warily join the team. Included in the super line up are Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow.

The film stars Robert Downey, Jr.; Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson.

“Avengers” is held over. It is presented in 3D & 2D at alternating showtimes . 142 minutes.

It is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action throughout and a mild drug reference.

LUCKY ONE

This romantic drama is based on Nicholas Sparks’ bestselling book and is directed by Academy Award-nominated writer/director Scott Hicks.

U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault, played by Zac Efron, returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive-a photograph he found of a woman he doesn’t even know.

Learning that her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her familyrun kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.

The film also stars Taylor Schilling (TV’s “Mercy”) and Blythe Danner.

“Lucky One” is held over. 101 minutes.

THE PIRATES! BAND OF MISFITS

This animated action comedy features Hugh Grant as the voice of the Pirate Captain.

Grant stars in his first animated role as the bearded Pirate Captain, a boundlessly enthusiastic, if somewhat less-than-successful, terror of the High Seas. With a rag-tag crew at his side and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter rivals Black Bellamy (Jeremy Piven) and Cutlass Liz (Salma Hayek) to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award.

“Pirates! Band of Misfits” is held over. It is presented in 3D & 2D at alternating showtimes. 88 minutes.

It is rated PG for mild action, rude humor and some language.

THE VOW

Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum star in this new romance drama based on a true story.

A newlywed couple is involved in a car accident that puts the wife in a coma. When she wakes from the coma, she has severe memory loss and can’t remember her husband or getting married. Now he must try to win her heart again.

“The Vow” is the first feature showing at the Starlite Drive-In Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12. 104 minutes.

It is rated PG-13 for accident scene, sexual content, partial nudity and some language.

THIS MEANS WAR

Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy star in this romantic action comedy about a girl who must choose between two boyfriends — who both happen to be spies for the CIA. When they fight over her, they really fight — with all the weapons and gadgets at their disposal.

The world’s two foremost covert CIA operatives are trained assassins and master spies. They’ve saved the world on countless occasions, but these partners and best friends are about to experience the one situation way beyond their formidable skills — when they realize they’re both in love with the same woman. For the now-divided duo, this means war and they’re coming at each other with an arsenal capable of bringing down a small country.

“This Means War” is the second feature showing at the Starlite Drive-In Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12. 97 minutes.
