Eagle Butte woman pleads guilty to embezzling from Cheyen River tribe

SIOUX FALLS (AP) — An Eagle Butte woman has pleaded guilty in federal court to embezzling from the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Telephone Authority.
Twenty-four-year-old Miranda Walters was accused of stealing more than $3,000.
U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says Walters faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine when she is sentenced July 17.
