Police ID victim, suspect in Rapid City stabbing

Thirty-year-old Morgan Myers of Rapid City died after being stabbed several times Thursday. An autopsy was planned Friday.

RAPID CITY (AP) — Rapid City police have identified the victim and suspect in a fatal stabbing in a Walmart parking lot.

Thirty-year-old Morgan Myers of Rapid City died after being stabbed several times Thursday. An autopsy was planned Friday.

Police say the man who allegedly stabbed her, 30-year-old Michael Young of Rapid City, is hospitalized in critical condition. He was arrested Thursday after being found barricaded in a bathroom at a nearby hotel with what police said were self-inflicted stab wounds.

Police did not immediately say if Myers and Young knew one another.

A Walmart spokeswoman told the media that Myers had worked at the store for about seven years.
