LETTER: City should remove cleanup restrictions
Why limit it to furniture and appliances? I had two very large items that I worked hard at to get out of my basement.By: Rhonda King, Mitchell
To the Editor:
This is to all you city government people that thought it was good to put restrictions on the cleanup week.
Why limit it to furniture and appliances? I had two very large items that I worked hard at to get out of my basement. One thing was picked up by a passerby, thank God. But the other I had to break apart to even get it outside. I get home from work and there it sits on my curb.
Now I want to thank the city of Mitchell for making my house look bad. I know I’m not alone when it came to this day. I saw other houses with things still sitting out front. Now I hope you can explain to me how these things are going to get to the landfill, because I can’t do it.
Oh, it was furniture of a sort. It was a large box to hold tools and such in my basement. To me it’s classified as furniture.
Maybe you smart people that work for the city should rethink the restrictions on the cleanup week.
