MENNO — A Menno teenager was injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident Tuesday evening near Menno.
Hutchinson County Sheriff Jim Zeeb said Cody Herrboldt was driving a four-wheeler ATV in a ditch on the road right-of-way around 5:40 p.m. He jumped an approach and slipped off the vehicle.
Zeeb said Herrboldt was airlifted to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. The vehicle went over Herrboldt’s leg, Zeeb said.
“(Herrboldt’s) mother called and said he has a fracture and his ankle is dislocated,” Zeeb said.
The accident happened on 289th Street between 430th and 431st avenues, the sheriff said.
Zeeb said he believed Herrboldt is 18 years old, but Zeeb had not finalized the accident report as of late Tuesday night.
